Last Sunday saw the band back playing their hometown of Portlaoise for the first time since February 2020. It was a triumphant return to the stage, with the late addition of an afternoon gig serving as a warm up to the sold out evening performance under the stretch tent.
Limited to 200 people, the event gave concert goers the first opportunity to experience live music in Laois since the start of the CoVid19 pandemic. Tickets were snapped up within hours of the gig announcement last month, limited to pods of four or six people.
The band ran through two sets with a mix of pop anthems and rock classics to please all age groups attending the festival, finishing the night with a thank you to frontline staff and the production crew for their work and the fans for their patience and support through the last 18 months. Revellers left the purpose built venue to the strains of Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World"...............and for a few hours at least, it was.
The festival, organised by Kavanagh's Bar & Venue, runs until this weekend and features acts from many different musical genres and cultural backgrounds.
